Tools
for Volunteer Coordinators
and Cleanup
Disasters are never pleasant and you
are not the first to go through it - but you are also not alone in the
aftermath of disaster. Here are some free tools for you to
use.
Disaster brochures that may be helpful
can be accessed by clicking on the
Disaster Brochures link to the left.
It is important to track names of
volunteers and the hours they donate as this may count as matching
funds for FEMA dollars. At the very least, you will want to know
totals for the media.
Volunteer forms
Forms
are in Microsoft Word and you may put your disaster response agency name on
it.

The next step is...
The next step after cleanup is to be
patient and wait for FEMA and insurance companies to complete their
work. In the meantime, monetary donations will be received. Open
a separate account for these and WAIT for the case management through Long
Term Recovery to disperse to those in need. Case Management provides a
fair and equitable method of assisting those with unmet needs and no funds
for recovery. This process will aid in the rebuilding of homes as
well.
